What are the Top Wages by Profession?
Computer programmers are known for bringing in large salaries. In an industry that wasn’t in existence 25 years ago computer programmers are some of the best paid professions on the market today.
However, as it appears that, physicians still ranks the highest when it comes to salaries.
That’s right: Being a doctor still ranks as the leading profession with the highest salary in accordance with the newest US Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates survey.
Taking into consideration the number of years for school, as well as training to become either doctor or lawyer, it’s not a surprise that these kinds of jobs are actually the most sought after and highest paying professions today.
The latest report from job site Glassdoor indicates, there are numerous other high-skill, high-paying jobs that don’t involve litigating or dealing with the sick.
With nearly half the list comprised of jobs in the tech and healthcare industries, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates report reinforces that higher salaries found in America’s fastest job-creating sectors require higher education and in-demand skill sets, says Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor’s chief economist.
