Who hasn’t dreamed of winning the lottery? Sitting at work you cannot help but day dream of what you would do if you won the lottery. Probably while you are reading this article you are thinking of what would you do with all that money.
Sitting in your cubicle you are probably wishing that you would win the lottery so you never have to go to work ever again. I bet you are wishing for that day where you can tell your boss to take that job and shove it.
What would you do with all that money? Would you buy a Lamborghini? Would you travel to the Maldives? Would you buy that dream home in Hawaii? Or would you save it and invest in your future?
Well this happened to a South Carolina resident who in fact did win the lottery. In fact he won one of the biggest and most popular lotteries in the world. Jonathan Vargas from South Carolina at aged 19, won a $35.3 million Powerball jackpot is the youngest person to ever claim US Powerball Jackpot.
Like most people Vargas decided to take the lump sum lottery winnings so instead of the 35 million he took home 17 million and quit his construction job.
He purchased his first lottery ticket ever and chose the six winning numbers using the upcoming birthdays and ages of his four siblings, his mother’s age and a lucky “guess”: 12, 14, 15, 21, 43 and 30. Soon after watching the 11 p.m. TV newscast he realized he was the winner.
Like most people Vargas said he planned to invest most of the money, buy a new house for his family and set up trust funds for his sister and three brothers.
What Vargas rally did was he wanted to use part of that money to do something in the entertainment industry. Vargas had always had a passion for pro wrestling. So it was natural for Vargas to partner with friends and create a television show called Wrestlicious TakeDown, a sketch comedy featuring ½ naked professional female wrestlers. With a collection of former WWE managers behind the scenes like Former Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling host and producer Johnny Cafarella and Jimmy Hart partnered with Jonathan Vargas. The show only last a year and he was out millions of dollars.
From their things started to spiral and after other big losses or poor investments Vargas is now broke.
So the moral of the story is: If you win the lottery don’t forget to listen to your common sense.
